Livelihood Improvement

ROSEWO runs livelihood projects through table banking concept in Nakuru County.  The project was structured to address the socio economic challenges faced by women in the community. The project is government of Kenya’s initiative towards realization of Millennium Development Goals 1and 3- To reduce extreme poverty and hunger and To promote gender equity and empower women-. The concept was piloted in Gatanga, Bondo and Rongai Districts, Rosewo being one of the piloting organizations. The results were impressive hence the country roll out of Table banking. The activities include: facilitating access to savings and loan mechanisms; skills, vocational & entrepreneurial training, business support services, sustainable use of natural resources,  labour-based activities and resource mobilization.

The objective is to;

  1. To build a saving culture among the low income earners.

  2. To provide and promote access of affordable credit.

  3. To Strengthen the existing alternative credit among the poor

  4. To Promote innovative approaches to provision of basic social services.

Our Programs and Key areas

Through our programs we have reached 8,000 beneficiaries in partnership with: Poverty Eradication commission, Jamii Bora Bank, Women enterprise fund, HABITAT for humanity Kenya for provision of affordable housing
